A new momentum for China-Denmark Cooperation --- NEA, Prime Minister of Denmark Visit Vestas in Tianjin

On the 10th of September 2014, Helle Thorning-Schmidt the Danish Prime Minister, Mr. Rasmus Helveg Petersen the minister of Climate, Energy and Buildings of Denmark and Mr. Wu Xinxiong the administrator of China National Energy Administration visited Vestas the Danish wind turbine manufacturer in Tianjin, marking another milestone in the bilateral cooperation on green energy solutions. Mr. Wang Zhongying, Director for China National Renewable Energy Centre (CNREC), relevant institutions and enterprises accompanied the visit. After the visit, an agreement was signed between three Danish companies Vestas, Novozymes, Novo Nordisk and the local electric utility Tianjin Electricity. The parties involved in the agreement will jointly develop a wind farm with a capacity of 50MW, where green electricity will be generated to cover the power consumption of Novozymes and Novo Nordisk in Tianjin.
Mr. Rasmus Helveg Petersen and Mr. Wu Xinxiong also presented the seminar attended by renewable energy research institutions, enterprises and associations of both countries. The seminar keynote speeches reviewed the success of China-Denmark cooperation in renewable energy sector and the optimistic future for further cooperation. Based on the research of CNREC, Mr. Wang Zhongying made the presentation on the potential great contribution by a high penetration of renewable energy to China’s primary energy consumption. Both industries also discussed the future potential cooperation on the incentive policies, technician and personnel exchange, wind farm efficiency improvement, wind farm operation and maintenance, etc.
